What if something's wrong with my banner?
If your banner arrives faulty, damaged, or misprinted, contact us at orders@legendarybanners.au and we'll replace or reprint it at no cost, in line with Australian Consumer Law. Because every banner is custom made to order, we can't offer change-of-mind refunds — so double-check your design and spelling before checkout. If you're ever unsure about anything before ordering, message us first and we'll help you get it right.
What is a windscreen banner?
A windscreen banner (also called a windshield banner or sun strip) is a wide vinyl decal that sits across the top of your car's front or rear windscreen. They're a staple of Australian car culture — used at shows, meets, and on the street to display your name, brand, car club, or design.
What size are your windscreen banners?
Our banners are 1440mm wide x 230mm tall — a universal fit designed for most passenger cars, SUVs, utes, and 4x4s. You'll trim the edges to match your windscreen curve during install. It's a standard part of the process and we include instructions.
Why do the banner previews show a watermark?
The watermark is only on our website previews — it protects our original designs from copycats. On top of that, all preview images are scaled down in resolution, both to guard our artwork and to keep the site running fast. Our pre-designed artwork is created at the highest resolution, so the banner you receive is printed clean, watermark-free, and as close to pixel-perfect as it gets.
Will the printed colours match my screen exactly?
We match printed colours as closely as possible to what you see on screen. We print in RGB to hold the strongest, most vivid colour spectrum — especially important for the RGB images most customers upload. Keep in mind every phone and monitor displays colour a little differently, so minor variation between your screen and the printed vinyl is normal.
What are the yellow guide lines in the designer?
The yellow guides mark the safest design zone — 1.2m wide x 19cm high. This is the area that generally stays visible after your banner is trimmed to your windscreen's glass edges. Keep your important text and logos inside these guides so nothing critical gets trimmed off. Patterns and backgrounds are usually fine to run past the guides, since they're designed to be trimmed around the glass. If you want to push text or logos outside the safe zone, measure your own windscreen width first to see how much room you've got — it varies from car to car. One more thing to keep in mind: many vehicles have a curved roof line that arcs down onto the windscreen, so if you add extra height beyond our standard 23cm, that curve can affect how the top of your design sits. The 19cm safe zone height accounts for this — stay within it and you're safe on virtually any car.
Do the banners include Legendary Banners branding?
Yes — every pre-made banner features the Legendary Banners mark aesthetically worked into the pinstripe of the design. It's subtle, it's part of the look, and it's how you know it's the real deal. The only exception: banners you create yourself in our designer are 100% your design, no branding added.
How long does a vinyl windscreen banner last?
Our banners are printed on premium cast vinyl with a UV-resistant laminate rated for 5–7 years outdoors. They're built to handle Australian sun, heat, and coastal conditions without fading, peeling, or cracking under normal use.
Do you ship windscreen banners Australia-wide?
Yes — we ship to every state and territory across Australia via Express Post. Perth locals also have the option to choose free pick-up from our Morley studio. Dispatch is same day or next business day depending on when your order comes through.
Can I get a custom windscreen banner with my own text or logo?

How do I install a windscreen banner?
Clean your windscreen thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol. Measure and position the banner across the top of your windscreen, leaving even overlap on each side. Use a squeegee to apply from the centre outward, removing air bubbles as you go. Trim the excess around the edges with a sharp blade. If you're not confident doing it yourself, book our Pro Install at checkout.
